Herman Academy pupils are taking part in the UK’s biggest cycle and scoot to school competition!
From 3rd – 14th March pupils will be swapping the car for two wheels for fun, exercise and a chance to show other schools in the area how to win competitions, Herman style!
Mr. Russell Cook, PE instructor at Herman, said, “This is a chance to really make changes at a young age to lifestyles. Lots of our children do cycle to school already but I know that there are pupils who received bikes for Christmas and are not yet using them for the short journey to the academy.”
Project BOB coordinator, Simon Elliott, said, “Herman pupils will be competing against other children from all over the country. The event is strictly monitored and the number of cycles coming into the academy will be counted each day.” Mr. Elliott continued, “There are prizes on offer to the winning school, including bikes to be won!”
To take part all you have to do is cycle or scoot to the academy over the next 2 weeks. Mums’, dads’ and teachers’ rides to school also count, so its a real chance for the whole of the academy to get involved.
