The children and staff of Ormiston Herman Academy celebrated the reign of Queen Elizabeth on 9th September 2015 with a special assembly.
Vice Principal, Mark Thompson, took the opportunity to explain to the children the significance of the reign and how the Queen is the figurehead for our British Values of Freedom, Justice and Respect. Bringing Numeracy into the assembly, children created a number line to represent the length of Her Majesty’s reign.
The assembly was drawn to a close by singing the National Anthem.
Mr. Thompson said, “Its essential that children understand that the Monarchy is more than just a king or queen. The values that we hold dear as an academy are those that we share with the nation and Queen Elizabeth represents those to the rest of the world.”
