Ormiston Herman Academy is pleased to announce the 2015 – 2016 Academy Council for the Autumn Term.
The council has been in operation for the past 4 weeks under the guidance of the Clerk, Miss. A. Jeffery. Comprised of representatives from each of the Herman class, from Reception to Senior Year, the council meets once a week both to discuss issues of the moment and work on longer term projects.
Recently, the council has started looking at how the academy can make children feel safer and also how it can inspire children to believe in themselves. This work is part of the Ormiston Trust work into developing a pupil charter.
Miss. Jeffrey commented, “I am delighted to be able to work with the Herman Academy Council as a recently appointed member of staff. The children have a clear understanding of issues that are important to them and they are keen to drive improvements forward.”
