All pupils at Herman Academy enjoyed a morning of road safety when magician, Olly Day, visited the academy on Friday 14th February. Organised through Norfolk Road Safety Organiser, Nicky Johnson, the morning gave a very serious message to children using a mixture of comedy, magic and audience participation.
The event was attended by PCSO Andy Featherstone who has arranged for children to take part in a banner competition highlighting the importance of considerate parking outside the academy.
Mark Thompson, Vice Principal, said, “This assembly is part of our commitment to keeping children safe both in the academy and beyond. Everyday in Norfolk, children are injured unnecessarily on our roads and we are determined to minimise the risks for our pupils. Olly Day delivered a really enjoyable assembly but the message was not lost at all.”
