It has been a very exciting day at Ormiston Herman Academy as pupils have taken to the polls to cast their votes.
This morning, our Year 6 pupils, who were representing the main political parties, shared their manifestos with the rest of the classes, so that children could vote for the policies and promises that they most liked the sound of.
Each political party shared their visions on wide ranging subjects such as Brexit, the NHS, money for schools and how to save the planet.
All day, pupils from Year 1 to 6 have been turning up to our onsite polling station to decide the future of politics at Ormiston Herman Academy.
Early indications showed that two parties were vying for the top spot, with children expressing concerns for the future of our planet as well as wanting more money spent on the NHS and schools. Voting closed at 2pm with the results announced at 2.45pm, in what was sure to be a very close race.
The winner was the Green Party!
