On Saturday the 3rd of May pupils from Ormiston Herman took part in the Norfolk Megafinal chess challenge. The pupils who had qualified from the inter-school competition faced tough opposition from all over the county. Unfortunately though none of the pupils made it through to the Gigafinal this time round, they all had a great opportunity to hone their skills against some of this regions finest players. The pupils all had a great day out and now they’ve practiced their critical thinking skills the standard of Ormiston Herman Academy’s own chess tournament will be driven higher.
Chloe, a year 6 pupil, who took part in the tournament said, ” It was brilliant and I had fun!”
Abby added, ” I played well and I was pleased with my score.”
