Football makes Writing Fun!

Over the past six weeks a group of year 5 boys have been combining sport with learning. Once a week, special visitor to the academy,Rebecca Mills, has been working with the thirteen pupils, focusing on writing and football skills. As part of this fun initiative, the children had the opportunity to visit local football ground, Carrow Road. Pupils enjoyed the tour of the stadium, where they saw: the pitch, the dugouts, the tunnel, the changing rooms and the trophy cabinet. The boys then had to write a review of the stadium, before visiting the press room where they held their own press conference.
‘The whole day was excellent!’ exclaimed Curtis Cox
‘It was a good day because we learnt lots about Norwich City Football Club, for example we found out that the pitch has around 7 million pieces of plastic grass woven in with real grass’ said Diesel Jacob.
‘The whole stadium was astonishing! I particularly liked seeing the trophy cabinet because we could learn about the team’s achievements’ added Michael Swann.
