On Wednesday 4th February, a group of 24 pupils from key stage 2, participated in a swimming gala. The annual event, held at the Phoenix swimming pool in Bradwell,  involved a number of local schools taking part in a variety of competitive races. Races included: relay, front crawl, back-stroke, breast- stroke and butterfly. OHA’s entrants had to compete against pupils, their own age, from three other schools from the area.

Ollie, a year 6 pupil, who took part in the gala and came first in all his races said, “It was really good and I hope I get to do it again!”

Paris added, “I really enjoyed taking part in the relay races!”

Mr Cook, teaching assistant said, ‘The children really enjoyed the experience of competing at the gala. It was great to see all the top swimmers from the local schools in the area.’

The academy are awaiting the overall results from the gala, which was held over two days, with several schools taking part.
