Pupils in the senior year put on a performance that was “Out of This World!””
On Tuesday 16th December parents, family and friends were invited to come and see the senior year’s Christmas show, which they had been busy rehearsing, in preparation for their two big performances. The play was set in Space and characters included aliens, astronauts, mechanics and the more traditional nativity characters; shepherds and kings. The story is about a group of astonauts who find themselves stranded in space, when their space rocket crashes. The astronauts find out they’re not alone when they come face to face with the “Zorkonians” After the initial hostility the aliens and astronauts become friends and the Zorkonians learn all about Christmas. The story ends when both parties fly home to earth in time for Christmas!
A tremendous “Well Done!” to: the actors/actresses , who not only learned their lines, but spoke clearly and with expression, the group of dancers, who danced beautifully to “A Starry Night” , the whole year group who sang all the songs enthusiastically and to the pupils and their families, who had taken the time to make or buy costumes, which made the show come to life!
The children received huge applause at the end of the performance, which made all the hard work and rehearsing of recent weeks all worthwhile!
Amara, a year 6 pupil (and “alien”) said, ” I liked being on the stage, as I love acting!”
Hope added, “My favourite part is where the aliens follow the astonauts and hide everytime the astonauts turn around”
