The ‘Practical’ Pioneers

Posted on: February 13, 2015

Pupils in Pioneers have been busy learners this week. In literacy, children became actors when they had the opportunity to perform from a play script. They were asked to think about how the character in the story would be feeling and reflect that in the tone of their voice. During their Science lesson the class conducted a science experiment to find out how out how water travels to feed a plant. Pupils used a piece of celery and placed it in a cup that contained  food colouring mixed with water. The Pioneers are eagerly awaiting the results! On Thursday afternoon, during their enrichment time pupils made craft flowers, which fits in to their current Science topic of Plants.

Miss Horton, teacher of Pioneers said, ” Pupils have been enthusiastic and engaged in their lessons and particularly enjoyed the practical element of their learning this week.”
